Koret supports public policy research and analysis that takes place at the college and university level, particularly as it pertains to the advancement of democratic societies, free-market economies, and education reform.
With our roots in the Jewish community, we are proud to support Jewish studies at Northern California’s colleges and universities.
In addition, Koret has awarded significant capital and programmatic grants to Bay Area universities whose new and previously unimagined structures, and programs and responses to social, cultural, educational, or recreational needs create inviting opportunities for engagement. In recent years, capital grants have demonstrated the Foundation’s continuing leadership in campaigns to expand and enhance community resources. These awards include contributions to the University of California’s Mission Bay campus in San Francisco ($10 million); the University of San Francisco’s Koret Law Center ($3.25 million); the Stanford Institute for Economic Policy Research ($3 million); and a joint project at UC Berkeley between Boalt Hall and the Haas School of Business ($3 million).
