Overview
Koret supports innovative approaches to community challenges, particularly those with significant public policy implications. Specifically, we support organizations and initiatives in the areas of Education; Arts, Culture, & Civic Life; Israel; and Jewish Peoplehood.
Education
Every child deserves the opportunity to receive a high-quality education, and a competitive marketplace increases the odds of realizing this fundamental American birthright. Our strategy is to exert external market pressure on public school districts to encourage excellence.

Our advocacy for Israel is two–fold: We strongly support the Middle East's only democracy as a vital partner for U.S. security interests, and we envision a future in which Israel can shift her focus from precaution to prosperity – a hallmark of a truly thriving democracy.

When a region's arts thrive, the region thrives. Not only the local people, but those from the suburbs or farther afield are drawn to the area for cultural enrichment. They may dine or shop or spend the night, quickening the economy. And thriving arts organizations create jobs, another force for economic growth.

Our Process
The Koret Foundation considers grant requests by invitation only. Our program staff actively surveys the landscape of nonprofit organizations engaged in innovative, exemplary work in areas of interest to us, and invites those with compelling projects to submit grant applications.
