Arts & Culture
As part of its ongoing commitment to strengthening and enriching Bay Area communities, Koret supports and sustains high-quality cultural arts programs and organizations that collectively have established the region as a vibrant, world-class arts destination.
San Francisco's major museums and performing arts companies are nationally recognized both for the quality of their work and for the outreach and the educational programming that they have developed. As a group, San Francisco's arts and cultural organizations have been at the heart of the region's vibrant city-centers, which significantly enhance quality-of-life in the Bay Area, both for residents and for the area's many and diverse visitors.
Koret participates in multi-million-dollar capital grants that restore San Francisco landmarks, such as the Palace of Fine Arts; erect new learning centers, such as the Koret Taube Education Center at the California Academy of Sciences; and broaden audiences for the San Francisco Opera. Koret's arts, culture, and civic institution grants support critical capital projects and provide general operating support, as well as provide funding for specific exhibitions, productions and programs, particularly those with Jewish themes.
San Francisco is home to world-class cultural institutions, from the symphony, the ballet, and the opera to a diversity of theater companies and museums. Koret supports these Bay Area organizations because when they prosper, the economy prospers and the community benefits.
