In addition to advocating for Israel, Koret has a fundamental interest in economic expansion in Israel, achieved through policy reform to move toward a free-market economy and a small-business loan guarantee program, Koret Israel Economic Development Funds. In addition, in response to the emergency in North Israel, the Foundation awarded $3 million to the Jewish Community Endowment Fund to assist in rebuilding efforts. Examples of projects supported through this fund are a bond authority for infrastructure projects, alternative energy research at the Weizmann Institute, small business loan guarantees, and agricultural renewal in Israel's North.
